Privacy
Atlas sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. That is why there is no consent banner.
What we measure
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: aggregate page views, pages visited, countries, browser type and referring sites. No cookies and no cross-site tracking.
- Our own anonymous events, stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine:
- what you type into the Atlas search box and which entry you pick (queries containing “@” or a long run of digits are dropped),
- which illustration you touch first on a page,
- how far you scroll an entry (25, 50, 75, 100%),
- the domain of an external link you click (the domain only),
- addresses of pages that do not exist,
- where a visit from outside came from: the referring domain only, or the utm_source tag of the link (e.g. chatgpt.com), once per page view, never the full address or other parameters.
With each event: the Atlas page address, language, country (from the Cloudflare network) and the domain you came from (e.g. google.com).
What we do not collect
- cookies, localStorage or any person or session identifier,
- your IP address, user agent or a device fingerprint; Cloudflare sees the IP because it delivers the page, but it never reaches the statistics,
- anything that links two events to the same person: your visit cannot be reconstructed.
How to opt out
Turn on “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control in your browser and the script sends nothing. An ad blocker stops it too, and the site works without it.
Retention and access
Cloudflare keeps the events for up to 3 months. Only the author looks at them, and only as aggregates (e.g. the most common searches), to learn which entries are missing.
